Financial Reorganization at Relief to Sustain Free Mental Health Services

Important message

Why is Relief reorganizing its activities now?

Relief has been making a difference for 34 years, and this is not an easy decision.
The economy has tightened, and like many other organizations, we’ve experienced a significant decline in philanthropic donations and public funding over the past two years.
We therefore had to undergo a financial reorganization to ensure the sustainability of our mission.
We are reorganizing financially to continue offering services to as many people as possible.

Which services will be affected by the reorganization?

One-time intervention services, including face-to-face meetings, support groups, text-based support (via Messenger), and telephone support, will be suspended, as will self-management workshops provided directly by Relief (except for those already scheduled).

We continue to support individuals living with anxiety, depression, or bipolar disorder through specific projects.

Which services will remain active?

  • Individual self-management support services;
  • Self-management workshops offered in partnership with other organizations;
  • The Relief Affaires program;
  • Our self-management support training programs.

We will also continue to maintain and develop key projects to meet the growing needs in mental health care.

Is Relief in danger?

No, Relief is not in danger.
We are going through a necessary period of adjustment due to the decrease in donations and public funding, within a more challenging economic context.
We continue to provide essential free support services.

Is this a partial or total closure of Relief?

This is not a closure, but rather a financial reorganization in response to a challenging economic context and a significant drop in philanthropic donations and public funding over the past two years.
Our intention remains to provide free support services. We are still actively seeking donations and funding to help as many people as possible.
Some free services have been suspended, but we continue to provide free assistance through several flagship projects with committed financial partners and through the donations we receive.

Why continue to donate to Relief?

Because our mission is more relevant than ever.
Mental health needs have surged since the pandemic and during these uncertain economic times.
Your support helps us maintain essential services and build a sustainable future so that people can continue to move forward.
